January 12 is one of the most iconic dates for the Buckeyes, when Ohio State claimed the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship in 2015!
The No. 4 Buckeyes, led by head coach Urban Meyer and freshman QB Cardale Jones, defeated No. 2 Oregon 42-20 in the title game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This came after OSU beat No. 1 Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl semifinal on January 1.
